Wade Creek Farm Camps and Classes

Reconnect to food, nature, and community on our 40 acre homestead nestled in the deep PNW woods.

Snuggle with goats, kiss a cow, build forts in the woods and play in the creek, and eat fresh from the garden like Grandma used to do.

We teach traditional homesteading skills to kids and adults of all ages, and offer a safe, inviting, and nourishing environment to play and learn.

We invite you to wade on in and stay for awhile in this magical place.

EVERYONE IS WELCOME HERE!

Summer Camps at Wade Creek Farm

Camps at Wade Creek are a perfect mix of farm fun with animals, playing and learning in the woods, art, and exploring the world of healthy, home grown food.

Coyote Trails Adventure

July 21-25, 9am-3pm, ages 8-12

This camp is all about learning the coyote ways of orienteering, shelter building, wild edibles, cordage and more.  A camp specially designed for older kiddos, we will spend our days learning in the forest, and emerge as a coyote pack ready to live in the wilds.  This camp is for friends looking for an opportunity to learn valuable skills, work as a group to build a large shelter, and have a meaningful and memorable experience in the wilds.

Fox Walking

July 28-August 1, 9am-3pm, ages 8-12

Learn to fox walk and be a creature of the forest!  In this camp we will learn how to live in the woods with help from our animal friends.  We will spend the week building forts, sneaking in and out of the woods and clearnings, and learning about all the ways animals survive in nature.  And of course, we will have lots of time to play in the creek, sneak snacks from the garden, and run through the woods searching for our fox friends

Sunflower Soup Camp

August 11-15, 9am-3pm, ages 7-12

This camp is all about food!  Yay for food!  We will spend our days learning about how to grow food in the garden, how to find food in the woods, and how to make delicious concoctions both savory and sweet.  Each day we will explore a new type of food, creating teas from the woods, picking berries and making jam, making sauerkraut, and learning to make healthy treats.  Welcome to the farm kitchen, hope you are hungry...and curious!

Owl’s Art Camp

August 4-8, 9am-3pm, ages 8-12

Art from the farm and forest!  This camp is all about creating art from the natural world, and using the beauty of the farm and forest to guide our explorations.  We will make handmade paints, mine clay from the creekbed, felt wool from the llamas, press flowers, and more!  No art experience needed, just an excitement to learn new skills and make the world a joy-filled rainbow!

Fairies and Gnomes Camp

July 7-11, 9am-3pm, ages 6-8

Delight in froliking with fairies, finding that silly garden gnome, and catching the magical wonder of summer.  This camp is all about having fun and exploring the mysteries of the farm and forest while keeping an eye out for our fairy and gnome friends!  We will spend our days building fanciful fairy homes, making salads for our garden gnome friends, making potions and wild teas, and sparkly art to hang from trees.

Frog and Toad Camp

June 23-27, 9am-3pm, ages 8-12

Explore the waterways with Frog and Toad.  This camp is all about the water!  Catch frog eggs and watch them hatch, follow handmade boats on their journey downstream, learn about the animals that call the creek and pond their home.  This camp is definitely for our friends who love the way of water.

Regenerative Agriculture is a principle of making the land and soil healthier as we grow food. In other words, we nurture the soil and we nourish ourselves.

What does Regenerative Agriculture look like in practice?

On the farm Regenerative Ag simply means farming in a way that builds the soil, with the goal of not simply being organic and sustainable, but actually regenerating soils that have been depleted over the years.

Here at Wade Creek Farm, that means we let animals rotationally graze our pastures, a practice that replenishes grass through natural fertilization, while building soil moisture and health. It also makes for healthy animals that live their best lives! The grass provides the nutrition, the clean air and water keeps the animals thriving, and of course, we provide the love!

The manure from our animals in turn gets composted and used to create thriving gardens and orchards, which of course translates into healthy and delicious vegetables, fruit, and berries.
